Meet Our Clinicians

Ian Sadler - Founder & Clinical Lead

Hi, I’m Ian Sadler and I’m the Clinical Director and Founder of Norfolk’s BxClinic. Since June 2008, I’ve built Norfolk Biomechanics Clinic (now BxClinic) from a 'one man band,’ to a permanent premises in Blofield. I couldn’t be more proud of what our small team has achieved. On the grounds of Norwich United Football Club, our purposefully designed consulting rooms and state of the art technology support us to deliver exceptional patient experience and care.

I consider myself fortunate to do a job that I’m passionate about, and allows me to help a wide range of people - including those suffering from debilitating arthritis, to elite athletes in training.
I also teach and share biomechanics knowledge and practical skills to an extensive network of specialists, including physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and podiatrists. I’m constantly developing and increasing my own learning on biomechanics through the professional and academic circuit, where I lecture and discuss methods on biomechanics throughout the world.

I first became interested in biomechanics during my service as a battlefield medic in the British Army with the elite and Special Forces. I successfully treated many lower limb injuries in various fields of operation, under various strenuous circumstances with limited resources.

After leaving the army, I pursued a medical degree specialising in podiatry and orthotics. After graduating with honours, I went on to work for the NHS before moving to the UK’s leading biomechanics technologies company as their principal clinician and orthotics consultant. In this role, I supported the development of digital gait analysis technologies, designed protocols for academic study and clinical use, and guided prescription of orthotic insoles. At BxClinic, we now integrate the best of these technologies in our clinical practice.

Since early 2020 I have been working to introduce 3D printing technologies to the prescription of orthotic insoles. I work with companies leading the field in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium to translate the exciting new technology into usable clinical systems. I am a member of the Phits Clinical Advisory Panel as well as running Orthotic Prescription training for a variety of health care professionals.

When I am not at the clinic or lecturing, I’m a keen recreational athlete and take part in running and adventure sport events whenever I can, such as the Norwich Triathlon and Rat Race 20mile obstacle course run in Peterborough. After nearly 14 years working with the Reserve Army as a Physical Training Instructor, I ‘hung up my boots’ in October 2021. This allows me more time to offer mentoring and training for practitioners to integrate and improve their Clinical Biomechanics abilities.

Zainab Abdul Hadi - Orthotist

Hi, I’m Zainab Abdul Hadi and I’m an Orthotist working at BxClinic in Norwich.

I’ve always had a profound interest in working in a healthcare environment which inspired me to move to the UK and study Prosthetics and Orthotics in Glasgow, which I loved.

I’m passionate about helping people by developing the best treatment plan that suits your needs. I work hard to provide and design the optimum orthotic support and footwear to aid in your quality of life.

I love to support patients in their rehabilitation journey. I have experience as an Orthotist at various hospitals around Norfolk, seeing adult and paediatric patients. I’ve worked alongside physiotherapists and Orthopaedic surgeons, and can support your health journey. Working at BxClinic allows me to design and deliver a service focused on my passions and treat your individual needs.

When I’m not working, I enjoy watching football as a Liverpool FC supporter. I really enjoy living in such a historic city, and love the beautiful coastline surrounding Norwich. I also enjoy travelling and exploring, both within the UK or abroad, but always make time to travel home to Oman and Bahrain to spend time with my family and friends.
